Fun For Everyone

Whether you are a total beginner or an advanced diver there is a chance for everyone to swim with the turtles and explore the ocean. Float along at your own pace while enjoying the peaceful yet spectacular sights of the Great Barrier Reef. No matter if you snorkel or dive, here's everything you need to know about The Whitsundays!

Equipment Hire

Countless spots are waiting to be explored, though you will want to have all the right gear to ensure you'll have the best possible experience when snorkelling or diving. There are many places within The Whitsundays where you can hire out snorkelling gear, with everything you need from masks to fins, snorkels, and stinger suits, and all for a low cost.

Day Tour Snorkel Gear

When onboard any of the amazing day tours, snorkel gear is available for use for no charge during your trip, as well as stinger suits are available for hire before you depart your trip. Some day trips even afford everyone the opportunity of scuba diving, under watchful instruction of course.

Stinger Nets

Most tours, if not all, are fully equipped with stingers suits for little to no cost. However, if swimming off the mainland during the warmer months there are stinger nets fitted at Cannonvale Beach and Boathaven Beach. Dingo Beach has a fixed net and up all year-round. You will also find a few places around town where you can hire out a stinger suit.

Marine Stingers

The Whitsundays is famous for its tropical weather and warm waters, perfect for all aquatic activities. However, like other tropical destinations around northern Australia (and the world), jellyfish can be found in our waters during the warmer months, generally from October to May. Wearing protective clothing such as a stinger suit is the easiest and most effective way to help prevent getting stung by jellyfish during your time in the water.
